Bio and Company History

With over 25 years of pyrotechnic and special effects experience, Brian Artman formed the ART F/X Special Effects Corporation in June of 1990.

He began his career with the Walt Disney Company working with stage pyrotechnics and lighting design. At Disney Brian worked on thousands of performances which allowed him to hone his craft and work in many fields. At the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Disney's Hollywood Studios Brian was the Supervisor of Special Effects for show operations. These effects included propane flame, steam, smoke, pyrotechnics and very unique mechanical effects. He began working with Walt Disney Imagineering which led to opportunities in show control design and special effects design and installation. These productions included Sorcery in the Sky fireworks spectacular, The Little Mermaid stage show, Super Bowl Halftime shows, press events and new ride dedications to name a few. Brian has continued with an additional twenty one year career teaching the Walt Disney World Pyrotechnic training course in which he was one of the original architects of its design.

ART F/X has provided effects in convention and sports venues throughout the country for such productions and companies as the 1996 Summer Olympic games in Atlanta, the F22 roll out for the United States Air Force, IBM, Ford Motor Company, Mary Kay, Orlando Magic, Orlando Solar Bears, Carolina Cobras along with multiple theatrical and musical performances.

Other notable credits include show design/installation and Pyrotechnic Safety courses for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Pyrotechnic Safety Training for Ultratech Special Effects and special effects operations for Audio Visual Services Group at the Walt Disney World Resort.
